Gettysburg Living History Town Tours
In cooperation with Reluctant Witnesses, Historic Town Tour, and Victorian Carriage Company

Tour the town of Gettysburg with battle veteran James H. Maclay (as portrayed by actor Jeff Greenawalt). Walk with this local miller who volunteered to serve in the United States Army during the Civil War. Listen as he brings to life the stories told to him by the townspeople as well as the events that happened to him during and after the battle. View surviving structures and understand what happened within and without their walls during and soon after the battle. These are living history tours done in first person. Each tour is also a history lesson you will never forget! Stories of the citizens of Gettysburg are taken from the accounts they wrote. The experiences of James Maclay come from his writings and the history of his unit. This is not a mere regurgitation of memorized trivia, it is a very compelling performance about the very real emotions and response of the people in crisis who lived through the Battle of Gettysburg.
The tours are leisurely paced walks… no hiking… on sidewalks and paved roads…wheelchairs are manageable.
