About Jeff

I am truly grateful that I have been blessed with the ability to perform because it allows me to share my love for history, music, and acting with others. The question was how to best combine these three passions of mine, but an incredibly enjoyable journey has led me to what I believe is an ideal solution.
I’ve always been fascinated by history. Since I was a child, the stories of our ancestors and the times in which they lived always fired my imagination. I recall wanting to go to historical sites on vacation and Gettysburg was always one of my favorites. I don’t have academic credentials in history, but I do have an abiding desire to read and learn whatever I can. The library and I have become best friends!
I’ve been acting since I appeared as Count Dracula in a high school production when I was sixteen years old. I knew that I wanted to study acting so I went to Temple University where I received my bachelor’s degree in theater. Many stage roles followed. My education also continued and I received a Master of Public Administration degree from Penn State, allowing me to obtain regular employment while pursuing the performing arts and history after work hours. Trips to Plymouth Plantation and Colonial Williamsburg provided exposure to some remarkable living historians and I was hooked! I could combine history with acting!
All the while I maintained an active interest in music. I suppose it’s no surprise that I was drawn to preserving the music of the past. I studied classical guitar and found myself drawn to the early music more and more so I drove to Philadelphia and Washington, DC, to learn how to play the lute. As I became more and more interested in performing historical American popular songs, I found an excellent voice coach who once sang at the Metropolitan Opera and I learned how to sing.
I am thrilled to be able to combine my love for history, music, and acting into a variety of historical performances that I am anxious to share.
